Layout and Designing
With DomuS3D 2024 you will now find the snaps related to the vertices of the existing room. This feature makes it easier to draw inner walls, in addition to adjacent rooms.
When right-clicking while drawing a wall this new menu will open, allowing you to: exclude snaps to inner walls, exclude snaps to external walls, consider all rooms or just the active one, and include or exclude snaps related to the wall thickness offset. Learn more in this article.
-Drawing rooms from or towards an inner wall
- Drawing rooms starting from an external wall
- Creating rooms starting from modeled walls and with indents
The creation of rooms starting from modeled walls with right or left indents and inner walls is now possible.
- Merging of modelled walls
-Split wall feature is also available in right-click menu.
If you right-click on a wall, you will find the same 'Split' feature available in the Toolbar (see this article). The wall will then automatically split at the selected point.
It might be slightly less precise than the Toolbar feature, but it allows for a faster wall division.
- Using the P key while creating a new wall will be especially helpful with corners.
A quick change of the dragging point (right and left side of the new wall) allows you to always align with existing walls by starting from an edge.

"Trace Room" feature improvement
In DomuS3D 2024, you can now delete and redraw interior rooms. More advanced tools are now available for managing rooms drawn with this feature.

Furniture and floorplan dimensions: custom offset
-Furniture: In v. 2023 automatic furniture dimensioning was introduced in the right-click menu. Starting from v. 2024, the feature has been completed with the possibility to customize the distance of automatic furniture dimensions.
In this way, you can set the point where you need to place the width or depth dimension for a specific furniture. This change is only set on the furniture placed in the project and is therefore not maintained when placing the object again from the components window.
In addition, you can now also add the dimensions of imported furnishing elements.
- Floorplan: starting from v. 2024 the right-click on the dimension of a wall selects the element’s dimension and opens the following right-click menu:
With the first option, you can set a custom distance of that dimension from the wall, which will be kept even after moving the wall.
With the second option, you can force the recalculation of the automatic dimensions of the whole room (which can sometimes be useful to update the automatic dimensions of walls, in case they have not been automatically recalculated). Learn more in this article.

Materials: new management and parameters
- New management based on the "materials archetypes" technique. This procedure, unlike previous versions, is based on the use of standardized materials that represent the correct starting point for the development of the desired material.
When creating a new material, you will first choose which "standardized archetype" to start from, by selecting it from the PRESET list.
This will make it faster and easier to create new materials and textures.
- New parameters have been implemented to manage the graphical compliance of some particular finishes, such as Sheen for fabrics.
- Improved interface. The window and material preview have been enlarged for a better user experience. The description of some parameters has been improved to better relate them to their Chaos counterparts, and parameters no longer in use have been removed.
A drop-down menu will now automatically open for active parameters (especially for active maps).

Modular furniture
Modular furniture and configurable elements management have been improved.
Faster synchronization of modular furniture with the rest of the project.
Availability of price lists for each catalog. Click here to learn more.

External 3D items importation
The importation and management of external 3D files (SKP, 3ds, Fbx) in DomuS3D have been improved.
- Improved management of normals (which sometimes, being incorrectly oriented, caused incorrect graphical display of the object);
- Improvement of the imported elements’ compatibility with DomuS3D materials;
- The algorithm for the automatic creation of the objects’ profile in 2D surfaces has been improved.

New Layers window
Restyling of the Layers window with the following new features:- Possibility to change the line style, color, and thickness of CAD elements (texts, lines, and dimensions) belonging to the layer.
- Possibility to filter the layers’ list.
- “Select all” and “reverse selection” buttons have been added along with the possibility to delete multiple layers at a single time.
- Tooltips activation on the “add” and “delete layer” buttons
- General restyling of the Layers’ window (see image below).

Multi-2DWall editing window
The window that allows you to view and work on multiple walls at once has been improved. Editing features have been extended and many of them can now be used on multiple walls (e.g., drawing CAD areas, viewing dimensions, creating tiling areas). The possibility of creating a tiling area near the shower box is an extremely significant one, for example. Learn more about all the features in this article!

Furniture quick replacement
This new quick “replace” feature, used in the Navigation window, allows you to drag and drop a new piece of furniture of the same type (e.g., toilet with toilet, bidet with bidet, etc.) on top of an existing one without deleting the previous one.
You can find the “Replace” option in the right-click menu. A new window will then open allowing you to choose the new item (belonging to the same typology) and replace the previous one.
You can keep replacing items while in the Navigation window.
Click here to open the Knowledge Base article.
Note: the furniture you need to replace must first be saved in your database.
-
Array feature extension
This feature allows you to copy Lights and Furniture in Linear, Grid, or Radial modes.
With this feature, the selected light will be inserted into the same group. This allows you to change the properties of one light source in the group, and apply the changes to all other lights that belong to the same group. Learn more about the Array feature here.
-
System, Database, and Other
-New default light bulb management: The light group name is automatically inserted in all new floorplans and has been set to "Default layout light X," where X is the (progressive order) floorplan number. When you divide the room the default light is always placed in both spaces. When changing the room size, instead, the default light is automatically recentred in the room, unless customized. In this last case, DomuS3D keeps the manually set position.
-The stretch feature was extended to allow you to specify the new total size of the furniture, rather than just the size of the extension. Learn more about the full operation here.
- When drawing a new project starting from a jpeg image the correct scale factor is immediately applied. Did you know you can retrace imported floorplans? Check it out here!
- New Help Chat available! Feel free to try it when you need help. Our support team will also be happy to support you in case you can’t find what you’re looking for in our online guide.
- Furniture drawing in wireframe/basic color mode: when left-clicking on a furnishing element in the floorplan you can use the new Switch feature (represented by a little eye) that allows you to choose one of the available visual representations for furnishing elements. Furniture can also be shown in wireframe mode.
- Spotlight in vertical position: when placing a spotlight in the floorplan, DomuS3D will automatically set a vertical light direction.
- New Hide/Show feature available on the toolbar for hiding or showing the blue lines indicating the active room. Click here to learn more.
