After learning how to use CAD tools in this article, let's now see how to create a 3D object.
1. Open the CAD section of the Ribbon in the Floor Plan window.
2. Select the POLYLINE or RECTANGLE command to draw the object you want to create. Start drawing the shape by left-clicking.
3. Once the shape is defined, click on the starting point or right-click and select CLOSE > CREATE OBJECT.
If the SELECTION window does not appear or has been closed, right-click on the polyline and select CREATE OBJECT.
4. Create the object by entering the following parameters:
-
Height: The height (can also be considered the depth) of the created shape.
-
Elevation: The elevation of the object relative to the surface on which we are creating. From the Floorplan view, it will be the distance from the floor; while from the 2D Wall view, it will be the distance from the wall.
-
Curves splitting line: The number of segments into which the perimeter will be divided. For curved lines, it is advisable that the chord division is small enough to best approximate the curve. It is recommended not to go below 2 cm if using covering materials to avoid slowing down or overloading the project and to allow the installation of mosaics (often with 2 cm tiles).
You can also choose the material to apply to the object's surfaces by selecting it from the materials available in the program's database.
Once you click OK, you will return to the project's floor plan, where you can move the object and position it in the desired location.
