Carts/Baskets are personalized “containers” in which you can save and group multiple items from the catalog (coverings, furnishings, installation patterns, materials, etc.), allowing you to filter the catalog content more quickly.
Practical examples of Basket/Cart usage in DomuS3D
A very common use is for items the customer selected while walking through the showroom, or those the salesperson intends to suggest based on the customer’s preferences expressed during the visit.
In this way, baskets could be named after the customer, for example: “Mr. Smith – modern series” and “Mr. Smith – wood series”.
They can also be used to create project alternatives if the customer wants to see multiple options for the same room, for example a more affordable solution and a premium one.
Baskets can also serve as a personal collection of favorites always available, or as “top sellers” — a small “personal library” of items you frequently use.
HOW TO USE THEM
To quickly display them, click the cart icon at the bottom of the Components window. The list of baskets will open, each with a customizable checkbox.
ADDING ITEMS TO A BASKET
To add an item, select the item image and drag it directly onto the basket you prefer.
VIEWING THE CONTENT OF A BASKET
There are different ways to view the contents of a basket: select it from the drop-down menu (see image).
Note: Make sure to select "None" to return to normal view and display all available items in the database.
To remove an item from the basket, select it and click the Remove from cart icon (see image).
IMPLEMENTATIONS IN VERSION 2026
Up to previous versions, the only way to fill a cart was by dragging an item from the Components window directly into the cart, as described above.
In version 2026, new functions have been introduced that allow more flexible cart management.
Two new commands are available in the section Database > Baskets.
With the “Cart management” command, you can access a panel that first displays the same list of carts currently available at the bottom of the Components window.
Here are some features available within this panel:
You can delete the contents of a cart. Enable the checkbox next to the cart name, then press the “Empty basket” button.
Warning: this command deletes both the cart contents and the cart itself. If you intend to delete only certain items from the cart, deselect the main cart checkbox and select only the items you wish to remove. Then press the “Delete item” button.
After selecting (via its checkbox) a single cart, you can rename it using the “Rename” button.
After selecting a single cart, you can add new Tile and Furnishing items using the “New tile” and “New furnishing” buttons. The available selection criteria allow you to load more than one item with a single command.
For installation patterns and materials, however, the only way to add them to the cart remains Drag & Drop from the Components window.Export one or more carts: after selecting one or more carts (via its checkbox), use the “Export” button to specify the destination file where the cart(s) will be saved.
This makes it possible to copy multiple carts into the same file (for example, to transfer them to another workstation with the same installed catalogs).Similarly, with the “Import” button you can select a file containing one or more carts and import it into the program.
If the imported cart has the same name as a cart already in the database, the program will still import the new cart keeping the same name. Note:If the items contained in the cart are not present in the database, the program will notify you at the end of the import which items are in the cart but not found in the database.
We therefore recommend downloading any missing catalogs in the destination program. For those who wish to configure a set of carts across many installations silently, it is possible to automatically send the list of carts to be imported to the program. Since this is an advanced function, we recommend contacting Maticad for instructions.
If you are using the Client-Server version, the carts you customize will not be visible to other Client users. The import procedure therefore does not interfere with your colleagues’ cart configurations.
A practical and quick way to fill a cart with the content of a project is by using the “Load from this project” command.
After specifying the name of the new cart, the program will automatically insert all covering materials and furnishings included in the project.
