H KEY in the LAYOUT window
To correctly position an item on a countertop or table top, while you are moving the item in the layout with your mouse, hit the key on your keyboard (H = Height): the object will temporarily freeze while DomuS3D gives you the ability to click on the surface in the layout where you want to position your object.
WARNING: it is very important that you select one of the lines of the 3D drawing and not an empty point on its surface or top (for example, you can click on the border of the table top).
In the image and video below, you can see the soap dish and soap which freeze momentarily after the user hits the H key on the keyboard and then moves to the left outside border of the stool and clicks with the mouse to set the elevation.
After selecting the surface, a pop-up will appear that will tell the user that the new elevation has been set and, if the elevation is correct, the user can continue positioning the item as desired. If the elevation is incorrect, retry the operation.
H KEY in the NAVIGATION window
Starting in the 2023 version, it is possible to utilize the H Key in the navigation window.
When you use the "MOVE" command (right click on object, select "move"), you can move the item around in 3D with your mouse. As you approach a surface (table top, shelf, etc.), including those imported into DomuS3D, niches, and configurable items, the elevation of the object will automatically adjust. When you want the program to set and maintain the elevation, you can use the key as above.
At this point, a black pop-up will appear that will confirm the new elevation.
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR BOTH CASES: keep in mind that DomuS3D knows the overall size of the element, and therefore, its "maximum height". For example, if we have a chair, the H Key will take the back-rest as a height reference and not the seat. To help in these situations, we recommend using the "Move 3D" command in the navigation window for more precise positioning.
