When selling surfaces (ceramics, marble, wood, stone), often a photo or a static render is not enough: it is necessary to better understand the texture, reflections, structure and light performance. This is where TileInspector comes in, the 3D viewer designed to “bring to life” the catalogue and enhance every detail of the material.
What is TileInspector
TileInspector is a web app viewer, available both within RealityRemod and within DomuS3D 2026, allowing you to view any surface in photorealistic 3D.
How to open the viewer within RealityRemod
Every time you apply a covering to the RealityRemod scene, on the right side (the Properties window) you can consult the details of the selected material.
“3D” button: launches TileInspector.
How to open the viewer within DomuS3D
If you are working on a project and want to access this viewer, there are two ways to do so:
- from the Components window, via a new icon in the toolbar;
- from the navigation, by selecting a tile and using the new icon in the property grid.
Please note that the viewer only works with Maticad tiles (if the tile cannot be viewed with TileInspector, the icon will not appear, will remain disabled, or an error such as “tile not available” will be shown).
How it works
Within TileInspector you can:
interact with the tile using the mouse, rotating it in 3D to enhance every material detail and perceive the quality of more textured surfaces through a realistic and dynamic interaction with light;
zoom in with the mouse wheel
change the graphic/variant of the same tile using the arrow icons, if colour variations are available;
Change the background colour according to the material tones
-
view the surface in “schematic” mode, for a more technical analysis;
-
rotate the tile in “vertical/horizontal” mode to better appreciate certain reflections (available both with the schematic view and individually).
