With this command, you can create an internal/external column within a room or attach it to a wall.
Activate the command by clicking the Create pillar button in the Floor Plan tab of the ribbon.
In this version of Domus3D, you can create a pillar either in the centre of the room or adjoining the wall.
In the latter case, by moving the mouse over the inner part of the wall, you can specify the exact point where you want the column to start either by using the left mouse button or by entering the distance of the column from the right/left edge of the wall (to switch between the input fields, use the TAB key on the keyboard) and pressing Enter.
Then specify the dimensions of the pillar: again, you can follow a quick procedure with the left mouse button or type in the precise dimensions of the column.
The programme performs a check when constructing the pillar; it cannot overlap with existing walls. The procedure is the same if you want to draw the pillar in the centre of the room.
When you draw a pillar adjoining the wall, it still appears "detached" from the wall (bear in mind, however, that in the case of wall tiling, the calculation is done correctly since the portion of the wall covered by the pillar is not tiled).
To make the pillar become one with the wall on which it is positioned, select the element and right-click to activate the Attach command.
This command integrates the pillar with the wall, a structurally more correct situation.
