DomuS3D® Composer is an external application that can load project’s details (also called atoms: layout, walls, technical details for the installer, renderings, …), and allows you to arrange your own printouts customizing them in paper space, with no boundaries regarding neither disposition, nor paper format (A0, A1, … A5, letter, …). Furthermore, Composer offers extended customization commands (for instance shot peening, text disposition, etc…).
When selecting the “Print with Composer” command (available in Tools->Print section of the Ribbon), DomuS3D® allows you to save a package containing all the information needed for the print; such package refers to the project at the moment when the command is launched. Package for Composer has .d3p extension.
Once opened the package in Composer, this is what appears:
In the Components window (left column, just like in DomuS3D®) it is possible to spot the different atoms available for the project.
You can select an atom, drag and drop it on paper. Resize and align it where you want. Do the same process for the other atoms and eventually find the desired print format.
Following the Windows™ standard for spreadsheets, on the bottom of the screen there is a sheet selector to work on; in any moment you can create other sheets for the same document(following the first).
In the next images you can see some layout examples profiting of DomuS3D® Composer potentialities.
In the following image, you can see that the printouts customization tools are available in the “Insert” group of the Ribbon Homepage:
Rectangle: allows you to draw a rectangular square of any dimensions.
Images: allows you to import a JPG and/or PNG image (could be, for instance, a previously done rendering)
Text: allows you to insert a rectangle containing a free text, even with several lines. The text can be aligned in the middle of the paragraph, the left or on the right. You can use the toolbar also to Move the text on the working sheet, and the Delete button to get rid of the selected Text.
Disclaimer: allows you to insert a text control containing the Company disclaimer (can be set in the Options window, in the Print section)
Title block: allows you to insert the title block at the bottom of the working paper.
Tiles list: allows you to insert a table that contains a list of desired articles.
You have available 3 possible lists:
- Tiles available in the current room
- Tiles available in the whole project
- Tiles contained in the selected atom
This last option is available when you select the floor atom, or a covered surface atom. The table containing the tiles list can be reduceed as to organize the cells in more lines/columns, as you can see in the images on the left.
Note: allows you to insert a Note related to one of the elements on paper.
This relation consists of a line that starts from the point to highlight and finishes next to the text area.
As you can see in the image on the left, there are two kinds of text alignment: above or under the reference line. The image below, indeed, shows how to set up the line terminator.
Walls list: allows you to insert the exploded view of the room walls, as you can see in the following image. Should one of the walls be irrelevant you can delete it by simply clicking on the button
Finally, the sections “Alignment” and “Organise” allow you to align the atoms or modify their visualization order.
Composer is automatically installed with DomuS3D® installation and must be used on the same computer as the application in case of a standalone version.
In case of a Client- Server version Composer can also be installed on computers that do not dispose of a DomuS3D® client, as long as they are in the same LAN (Local Area Network).
