You can automatically import your apartment floor plan using Artificial Intelligence, available from version 2024 (R2).
Remember that this AI network will evolve continuously, allowing it to process floor plans with increasing accuracy over time.
You can import floor plans in the following formats:
- Raster images (files with extensions JPG or PNG)
- Vector files (with extensions DWG or DXF)
Here’s how to proceed for each type:
-
Raster files (jpg, png)
Once the image has been imported and scaled correctly, place the cursor over it and right-click. From the context menu, activate the "Import with AI" command.
-
Vector files (dwf, dwg)
After importing, scaling, and exploding the floor plan, remember to clean it of any “noise,” such as dimensions, text, or furniture elements that could confuse the AI. It's important to leave only the walls, so symbols for doors and windows should also be removed. Use the line or polyline command to close any gaps caused by openings. With a selection window, highlight the floor plan you want to process and click the "Import with AI" button in the ribbon.
In both cases, the network processes the data but may return an incomplete result. You’ll have the option to review and improve it as needed. For instance, you may need to outline the exterior space or correct any rooms that were not accurately identified by deleting and redefining them.
Right-clicking inside a room or on a profile will open a context menu with several functions:
- Close room: closes the room’s polyline without needing to click back to the starting point.
- Undo point: if you placed a point incorrectly, you can undo the last click and return to the previous point without exiting the drawing command.
- Exit command and save: allows you to exit the command, saving the drawn profile so you can resume later (to reload the saved profile, select the "Trace" command again from the ribbon).
- Exit command without saving/Delete all profiles: lets you cancel or delete all profiles using the designated command to start from scratch with room tracing. If you started from an image, the program traces lines for the room outlines. To reset, delete all profiles and remove any segments drawn over the image.
If the network has identified a room incorrectly, position the cursor inside it and select "Delete the selected room." If an incorrect exterior profile was identified, you can delete it using the "Delete apartment exterior profile" command and retrace it.
Once you have defined all the rooms, confirm by using the "Create floor plan from profiles" command. The program will create wall thicknesses by calculating the difference between the initial multi-room area and the areas of individual rooms.
At this point, DomuS3D creates a complete project that you can edit and/or modify as you would any other project.
