Starting from version 2016, furnishings may be available with additional information that allow you to change surface finish of each of their layers, according to the specs of the item Manufacturer.
This allows not having to publish (and download) as many different elements in the Components window as the available surface finishes.
You will only have one element in catalogue, whose surface finish can be set in Navigation window, through the proper control available by clicking the right mouse button on the element, and selecting command Finish. In the next image you can see the finish mask.
The surface finish variation (bound to a particular working code) does not affect the project estimate, although the information regarding the selected finish for each element’s layer will appear.
The configurable elements can be locked or unlocked; if unlocked you can also select other (generic) materials, by dragging them from the Materials section of the Components window. If locked, indeed, you can only choose a different finish among those made available by the manufacturer. Should the manufacturer not clearly request to lock the finishes, the element will be provided unlocked.
This feature is only available for elements created starting from January 1, 2016.
